Op. 3 - 14.07.2006
Part of Good Diversions commissionbed by Bluecoat Arts Centre, Liverpool
Op.3 ( Tuning in) is an ongoing theme each time re-interpreted and presented. As always the international artist collective foreign investment is generating a lasting dialogue with their audience. In Liverpool citizens have already been invited to vote for their favorite song relating to the "city" Known for their provocative but always elegantly composed works, for the Venice Agendas last year the group created with tuning-in an open space to listen and share other voices whilst they remained in silence.
Foreign Investment reverses this silence again with an extraordinarily, audio, visual appearance over 2 days: Tuning-in celebrates the destructive forces of the city's "big dig". Working closely with street musicians, Foreign Investment will draw the viewer’s attention to well-known areas of the city centre that may change, or be lost forever. On the first day they will build a stage to serenade in the very midst of 3 building sites.
On day two the noisy upheaval the city is undergoing is celebrated with a surprising tour by horse and cart through the streets of Liverpool.
