EGG SERIES

BREEDING (Civilisation and its discontent) works to reverse and restructure the production of art. Each time a thousand eggs (raw, signed, numbered) are laid out on the floor to symbolise liability*. By purchasing an egg, visitors are invited to invest in the art of tomorrow. Breeding concerns the desires for origins. And since the origins of culture are said to lie in the restraint of desire, its title pays tribute to Sigmund Freud. Breeding is an event which works and vanishes with its observers. Art if there is – what does it offer today?
*any damaged egg must be paid for in full
